Very often we reflect on our past relationships and wonder, what were we thinking? Upon further review realize the telltale signs were there all along. Not reading or ignoring warning signs can be disastrous. The problem we've had in the black community is many of us pick the wrong partner. This can lead to divorce or breakup. This may also impact children, which creates single parent homes. According to a 2003 study 32% of African Americans divorce compared to 21% of Caucasians and 22% of Hispanics. The divorce rate now is up to 50%. When our black families separate it is not an easy road ahead. Children from single parent homes tend to be less disciplined, and more likely to be a guest of the state. This is why, its vitally important to pick the right guy.This lack of discipline causes behavioral issues that can lead to children taking the wrong path.
